What’s New: Movies in the Square
Town Square’s Movies in the Square program is back for its third sequel on May 6, and this season has a community-driven twist. Movie-goers can help support Goodwill of Southern Nevada, Inc. by making a clothing donation on site at Town Square during each movie. Patrons who drop off a gently used clothing, book or household item at the Goodwill truck located behind Tommy Bahama’s Restaurant & Bar will receive a discount card for several Town Square stores. Movie-goers can watch their favorite flicks in Town Square Park the first and third Thursday of the month from May 6 through August 19. Showing in May is WALL-E on May 6 and The Princess and the Frog on may 20. Films will all be rated G or PG and will be shown on a 25 ft. by 35 ft. screen starting at sundown. Seating is on a first come first serve basis and patrons are encouraged to bring lawn chairs or blankets to sit on.  Movies in the Square is free to the public and children must be accompanied by an adult. Center Happenings:  Fitness in the Square
A free fitness program at Town Square is making it easy and affordable for people to stay active. Fitness in the Square takes place in Town Square Park each Sunday and offers guided walks by Weight Watchers of Las Vegas, Inc. and group fitness classes for adults and children. Guided walks by Weight Watchers are at 8 a.m. and 9 a.m. and rotating fitness classes such as Zumba, yoga and children’s fitness are offered at 9 a.m. and 10 a.m. A complete schedule of classes can be found at www.townsquarelasvegas.com. There is no cost to attend the walks or classes and those interested in participating should meet at Town Square Park a few minutes before class starts to sign up.

Center Happenings:  Wine Walk May 29
The 2010 Wine Walk season is underway and the next walk takes place on May 29 from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. This is the second of four walks, which showcase a variety of food and wine throughout Town Square Park. Each walk features 20 different wines for sampling and the cost is $30 per person. The walks are organized by New Vista Community, a local charity committed to providing equal opportunities and support to intellectually challenged people of all ages so that they may experience life to the fullest. What to do: Get Your Country On
Cadillac Ranch is calling all country singers. The rock n’ roll meets country hotspot at Town Square will be a host site for the Colgate Country Showdown, which searches for America’s next country star. The competitions will take place every Monday night at 8 p.m. through June 22.  Contestants can sing two songs and vie for the chance to compete in the state competition for a $1,000 prize. The winner of the state challenge moves on to the regional event to compete for an all expense paid trip to the national finals, which take place in Nashville, Tenn. The winner of the finals receives a grand prize of $100,000 and the “Best New Act in Country Music” title.  The competition at Cadillac Ranch will be hosted by television and radio personality Paul Bowman. Bowman’s TV show, “Million Dollar Country” airs on Channel 25/Cox Cable Channel 14 Saturdays at 1:30 a.m. and his country music radio program, History of Country Music, airs in 21 cities. Weekly winners will have the opportunity to return the following week and perform on Bowman’s TV and radio show. What to do: Meet TV Celebrity Designer Thom Filicia at Robb & Stucky 
Join Robb & Stucky as the premier home furnishings retailer welcomes celebrity designer Thom Filicia to its store on May 15 at 2 p.m. Filicia will be on hand to sign copies of his book and launch the Thom Filicia Home Collection. The collection is a mix of living, dining and bedroom furniture designed by Filicia and available at Robb & Stucky.

EQ3 Furniture + Accents at Town Square will give several lucky people the chance to make their home look new again. The innovative and affordable furniture retailer for modern living is launching a contest that will award $1,000 worth of EQ3 furniture to a winner every two weeks. The contest starts on Friday, May 7, and the first drawing will be held at 3 p.m. on May 21.  Shoppers can pick up a ballot to fill out at the Town Square concierge or after dining at Brio Tuscan Grille. Ballots should be placed in the contest box at EQ3, located across from Robb & Stucky and down the street from Ann Taylor. Drawings will take place every other Friday at 3 p.m., and the winner will be notified by email. Contestants do not have to make a purchase at EQ3 or be present to win. There is only one ballot per contestant; and ballots that do not win will roll over to the next three drawings. image What to do: Indulge in New Items at Caña Latin Kitchen & Bar
Caña Latin Kitchen & Bar, Town Square’s newest restaurant, is introducing new items to its South American-inspired menu. Composed of ceviche, bocadillos and special sugar-cane based cocktails, a few new categories are spicing up the menu. To expand the ceviche selection, “Tiraditos” have been added for those seeking a more sashimi style ceviche. Dishes include Halibut ceviche with lemon, chive and coriander oil; Beef Tenderloin ceviche dressed with avocado, red onion and truffle mayo; and Hamachi ceviche with sour orange, yuzu and soy paint. Caña has also added its twist on the empanada, or stuffed bread or pastry. Guests can now dine on Chicken empanadas stuffed with tequila, lime and cilantro; Beef empanadas with piquillo pepper and avocado crema; and Duck empanada paired with fig and aguardiente crema. For bocadillos, Caña has added savory dishes such as truffle chips, Gazpacho, Chorizo Rice and Lomo Saltada, a succulent marinated steak tenderloin dish touched with red onions and peppers. The cocktail menu has been expanded as well, and now features Malbec Sangria, a traditional red sangria, and a Watermelon Ginger Margarita made of gran centenario tequila, watermelon, ginger and agave nectar.
